CHENNAI: More than 40 women air traffic controllers (ATC) at the air traffic control tower managed the landing and takeoff of flights at Chennai airport on Tuesday, as part of the International Women's Day celebrations.
An official release said the air navigation services are a specialised job domain that requires constant upgradation of skills to keep pace with the changes in the domain. The air navigation services provided by the air traffic control tower in Chennai span 10 lakh square kilometres. As part of the celebrations, the morning duties of the air navigation services were managed with an all women work force having good representation across ranks and age groups.
The day marked a variety of events to keep the women employees of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) empowered with self-confidence, pride and dignity. This is in line with this year's theme of gender equality, without which a sustainable future will remain a dream, it said. Acne treatment Chennai and Velachery
